Since March 2012 Asta Adukaite is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Communication Sciences and works under the supervision of professor Lorenzo Cantoni. As a PhD candidate she is seeking to contribute to enhancement of the research in the field of eTourism i.e. application of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in the tourism sector.
In 2011 Asta has obtained the Master’s degree in Economics and Communication, with a Major in International Tourism at Università della Svizzera italiana. She also holds the Bachelor’s degree in Law with a minor in Management obtained at Mykolas Romeris University (Vilnius, Lithuania).
Asta is also a researcher at webatelier.net, a research and development laboratory that deals with all aspects of New Media for Tourism Communication and a coordinator of UNESCO Chair in ICT to Develop and Promote Sustainable Tourism in World Heritage Sites at USI.
Research interests: technology enhanced life-long learning; formal and informal learning; gamification; usability and user experience; mobile applications in tourism.
